Some teachers have wondered how we can have students complete their work in a way that doesn't need a student to email responses back to teachers. Well, to do that, we would need to have an online tool that would allow us to collect those answers from them. This post will introduce you to such a tool!
Google Forms is a fantastic "information collection" tool. You can collect any type of information by using it. For our purposes, we can use it to "collect" answers to assignments without using any paper! The students will be able to go to our blogs, click on a link, enter their answers to our assignments using their devices, and we will collect the answers on the form or on a spreadsheet.
My suggestions:
**Use "Required Response" on the questions that your students MUST answer, like "Name" and "Class Number" (for Division 3 students).
**Use "Get email notifications for new responses" for your forms, so that you don't have to keep checking to see if anyone has handed in their work. You will receive an email to your Google account with which you signed into Google Drive and Forms.
**Show a progress bar on your form if it is a longer assignment with several sections to it.
